Best A levels to study History at Uni

I'm trying to work out the best A levels to study History at a good uni. My other degree option is History of Art (or maybe a combination of History and History of Art).

My current choice is 3 A levels in History, English and Art, with a pre U in HIstory of Art.

If I dropped English, which would leave me with only one facilitating subject, would that limit the unis I could go to?

Or would having a pre U in History of Art as one of my choices help?
