Is law really harder than medicine ?

I was discussing whether becoming a lawyer is harder than becoming a doctor. She told me it takes 7 years to be a business lawyer (??? i thought it was 5???) after i told her it was 7 to be a doctor.
I understand the fact that after med school im Guaranteed a job and lawyers are guaranteed success like doctors are (all doctors are successful lol).
But surely medicine is harder to get into. Like she wants to do business and law at de monfort uni which literally needs BBC to get into as a min at a-level whereas Leicester demands AAA +interview + relevant work experience needed + ukcat.
What do you think? and is she just chatting total garbage?
another thing.... she gets great grades but apparently "never revises" and whenever i say "im gonna revise tonight" she'll be like "you sicko" or "you werido" and she's the one always going about how we might as well study as hard as we can now blah blah blah + if i say i needa revise hard because medicine is so competitive and hard to get into she'll be like "mate law is just as hard"

Medicine takes 5 years of university and then 2 years clinical (which is paid) and then 6-10 years after to specialise (if you want to specialise). Law requires a 3 year degree, a year LPC and then a couple of years training with a firm. So they take about the same time.

Medicine is 100% more difficult, and is extremely competitive. No question about it.

If she is trying to suggest that law is harder to get into then she is indeed chatting complete garbage. There is no job garauntee in law either as there are a lot of people with law degrees.

It sounds like she is very childish and insecure. She is probably studying very hard but won't admit it because she wants it to look as if she is more intelligent than everyone else (it is surprising how many students do this).

Ignore her and don't let her bring you down. Law is nowhere near as hard as medicine and it never will be.

I wish you good luck and hope you get in to med school!

Lawyers guaranteed success? Hell no. All it takes is one mental breakdown to ruin your career. Also, getting a law degree is easy - but getting a training contract needed to become an actual solicitor, not so much. It is very competitive.
And law isn't harder... I found it pretty easy to be honest. It all depends on your natural skills/talents. I would find medicine very difficult though, because I really suck at chemistry, math etc.
