When should I start my next FIFA Career Mode, and plans to play FPL?

My recent career has just ended and I do not have recent plans to start a new one yet, as I got my worst ever exam average result (3.83 on 5 pt scale). Because of that too, I have stopped playing FPL, predicted restart is GW18 in the school holidays.
I have to take IGCSE exams from 16/5/2019 and the last exam will end on 20/6/2019.
As a result, my next FIFA career mode will start on 21/6/2019, to prevent any affections to my study for IGCSE exams. Or should I do one and end by Feb, and start another on 21/6?
For FPL, should I just stick with the GW18 formation until GW24, then update the team after the Jan transfer window and stick with that team until GW38, update the team once every 5 games (There is the Fixture Watch for me to plan ahead) or even forfeit from the FPL tournament for the rest of the 18-19 season while returning in 19-20?
