Wanting to do Secondary PGCE with Primary experience?

I intend to get secondary experience this year as well, but if I can't get it then would a primary reference be okay? Also, can they reject to give me a reference for my course? I'm worried I didn't do enough to get a good reference - wasn't there too long either. When is the cut off date to apply for September entry? Can I leave it as late as March/April?

You would need some experience in a Secondary school, but your referee can be from anyone appropriate. It's usually better to have a referee who knows you well as well.

How late you are able to leave it will depend on subject and the training programs you wish to apply for. A popular-ish subject in a small SCITT may be filled by then, but for a shortage subject PGCE you would be fine.
