In a nutshell, when I was in Year 9 I applied for Separate Sciences for my Science GCSE's but got put in Combined Sciences as my school didn't think I was

You didn’t finish but I assume you mean uni applications? I would change it ASAP because the uni will receive your grade and qualifications a day before you even know your grade. Uni’s get lots of applications and any reason to scrap someone if they have better applicants.
