A-Level/AS Level Mathematics mark scheme and exams question (Edexcel).

Hello, I was wondering if you get the correct answer to a problem but you use different working out that is shown in the mark scheme, will you be awarded full marks on the question despite using another method?

For example, if you were asked to find a vector in point-to-point notation (with no method stated in the question), could you find the vector by drawing them graphically on the Cartesian plane and still get full marks providing the answer is correct, if the mark scheme has method marks for finding the vector using position vectors instead?

I apologise if the example given is hard to understand, I will try and provide another one if it is needed. Thank you.

Generally (unless the question requires you to use a particular method), any correct method should get you full marks. Mark schemes do usually have lots of alternative methods.
