Should I take the IGCSE French Exams?

I'm studying French outside of school, and I was wondering should I take the IGCSE French Exams as well as I'm aiming for Linguistics/Modern Languages in uni. I've got a DELF A2 certificate in 2019, but would a GCSE help in uni applications? (I don't have confidence in taking the French A Level at this point so I was wondering would the IGCSE help. I've heard from teachers in school that unis would look at GCSEs as well, so I just wanted to make sure.)
p.s. I'm not from the UK.

A decent GCSE grade is equivalent to A2 so I wouldn't bother. The university should recognise CEFR levels.
