how many words should a law personal statement have?

i have 3340 characters out of 4000, and 526 words. is that too small?

I think that's okay as personal statements often range between 500 and 800 words
Does your character count include spaces? You need to ensure it fits into the 47 lines as that is likely to be met first
A good tip is to paste it into the UCAS text box (or find mock ones online) and check whether or not it falls under the line limit. Your personal statement can only consist of 47 lines, as well as only 4000 characters.

As for the word count, the content of your PS is much more important than its length. If you feel you have said everything you want to say, stretching it out or adding fluff in between will likely reduce the quality of your PS.
