Are gcse resits worth?

I've been wondering about this since say for example you get 4s and 5s for your gcses and you retake them and get higher grades e.g. 6/7/8 , will it be worth it ? Do they matter for job interviews and will they have a look at your re attempted grades or only focus on your first attempt ?

it really depends on what course you're looking to study for at uni and if they want specific gcses.

This year is unique as they’ll be autumn exams for every subject and if you get a higher grade in your autumn exam than you get this summer then you can get a new certificate showing your higher grade. They won’t know about your first attempt and if it’s lower you just don’t get a certificate with the new grade. I don’t know what employer would care, if you pass you’ve got a gcse, only do the retakes if you need a specific grade for some reason.
