slade transfer

Hi, i have gotten accepted into ucl to study philosophy but in truth I want to study art. I'm frustrated because i've already taken an art foundation and an unplanned gap year for medical reasons and I don't want to take more time out and i'm wondering if anyone knows any students who have done internal transfers to the BFA course at the slade. I asked ucl if I could hand in a late application for the slade and they said they were not allowed. so i'm wondering if it is heard of for people to transfer to study art in the first week or so. want to know if it is worth just hoping I can do that.
i have a portfolio that i've had my art school friends confirm is great (and my art school tutor) it's realy all about knowing if i have a chance at that.
