Glasgow Caledonian Nursing interview March 2022

Hi!

I was wondering if anyone can help.

I have an online nursing interview for GCU and I need help on what questions to expect. What the activity is like and what type of discussion and questions asked for the 121 section. I've been learning the 6 C's and implementing them into why I want to be a nurse, if anyone can help that would be great!

I understand that you should be sent a list of things that you are to research on for the actual interview prior to doing it ( when I'm not sure as could be a week or so proir in doing it you'll get it from the university), only know that because of somebody else told me this as they applied to Napier for September coming.

The type of questions you should have might be.....

The 6 C's of nursing which you are doing
The NMC code of practice/ conduct
Reason why you want to be a adult nurse rather than say children or midwifery.
What experience do you have of nursing as a career
What do you think is a typical day for a nurse
What do you think will be most challenging about this course
What is the hardest part about being a nurse in the UK today
Are you interested in a specific area of nursing and if so why ( something like ENT or ICU or even A&E ) obviously there's more specialist areas you may want to go into.
How to deal with a irate patient or there family relatives
Coping with stress
Coping with perhaps a bereavement whilst on shift and especially if you was treating him throughout time in hospital and also remain professional as a nurse.

There's so many questions you may be asked but hopefully you'll get this list on what to prepare for soon okay.

Good luck with this.

Hi Tracey,

Yeah I think that was me but I accidently posted anonymously, there wasn't an interview for it just a video assessment which I passed. I feel I haven't really received a lot at all from GCU, I'm going to call them and ask if there is more as all they have said there is a activity and a discussion, and 121 interview and to learn the 6 C's and that's it. I have a list of questions that could be asked but nervous about the activity as have no idea what to expect, thanks for sending those question examples, I will work on responses for them

I have read the NMC code of conduct many times now but will go over it just so its still stuck in my head, a little bit nervous about this but I made sure to book the interview for the end of the month and have been preparing for these since December when I got my first invite so I hopefully will be okay.

Thank you again

Your one to one interview is fine as you'll be asked whatever questions that they will be asking you on the day.
The video assessment is part of the process at the interview which I was told of by person for Napier and they then did other things will there on campus doing it.
Don't be nervous about the questions you have okay as just make sure you revise them well for your interview later on this month.
Don't know about the activity part but could be mini interview stations with 5 minutes to do each one but can't say for sure okay.

Yes that sounds like a good idea to perhaps contact them and ask them about things that you not sure about to allow time to prepare these.

No worries about giving some examples of what may be asked okay as least you can go through them.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions that I can help you with the best I can okay.

Keep me posted on things 😃😃
