Can the question be two themes? Or will it always be a character and a theme. Can I get away with not going over themes and focusing on characters?

I am petty sure for the last five years it has always been a character and a theme

It'll always be a theme and a character. And you can just focus on the characters but don't forget about the themes as you will need to use them in your character essay and vice versa.
