i feel gutted man, lost an easy mark from not doing 180 - theta.,thought it wanted the greatest angle inside of the triangle.

how did you work out the tension?

Resolve horizontally
you get Tension of the short rope is like a multiple of the long rope. I got 1.31 or so

idk if its right but i subbed in 60?
Does anyone remember what they got for the last part of the differential equation when it said find x in terms of t
Also does anyone remember what they put into their calculator to find the maximum area of the triangle

Erm it was like 3ln(34x/900-x)

wasn’t it 35x/990x inside the ln?? So the answer is 3ln(35x/900-x)? Maybe I’m wrong or u misclicked while typing

kinda sad i couldnt do the other questions on the differentials man because the question confused me, i thought you had to integrate 1/2700....

Was the translation of 1/x^2 to 9/x^2 in the Y axis?

did u get 10root5 as ur max area?

thats right but someone else here pointed out that you had to use the second solution of inverse sin and not the first so that the smallest angle was the one opposite the smallest side. shouldve been 118 iirc

Yes but you had to justify with the second derivative
