Get your head out of your arse. QM is a good university - as Democracy has said it has many good departments. I chose it for law over Durham, Warwick and Birmingham. I had 4As at A-level. It's around a top 10 uni for law - and that's ruddy competitive. It's got a nice campus and friendly ethos.

suicidal.

QMUL + RHUL are the middle.

Someone was ranking unis according to the offers they make. In this case Notts could be said as a low-ranking uni because in clearing I saw a lot of its courses going for CCC instead of the typical AAB-BBB.

you cant possibly mark a university down, because it has courses in clearly, however i do understand why you might, if the uni is so good why havent they filled up all thier places, hence going into clearing.....?
It's "the" middle.

Sorry but it isin't now get out of your little bubble.

Really, all of them are more competitive to gain admission than QMUL. What a waste.

Democracy has said it has many good departments.

Medicine, Dentistry, Law, English, Physics, International Relations.

These depts are all "good", okay they're not the very best, but they are certainly good.

I'm not in a 'little bubble', thank you very much. I really don't understand the hostility towards the uni. Well, I think that it is around top 10 for law most definitely and I think most people who know anything about law will agree. League tables aside, where it's a top 10 uni for law in the country in both popular tables, it has very strong staff and research. If you know anything about law, you know that law employers go by how strong the universities are for law. But, as I said, I didn't just choose it for its academic strength - but also because I really like the university!

Yes, it is just you. Only in the tiny, snobbish minds of TSR users would QMUL be considered "rubbish"

Oh my Lord. You GO THERE don't you??? Only in the tiny, snobbish minds of TSR user - YOU - would not consider QMUL "rubbish" Typico...

PS. NOT THAT IT IS RUBBISH AT-ALL.

No its just you who think its in the 'top 10'.

If you know anything about law, you know that law employers go by how strong the universities are for law.

I do know about law careers (I've spent years researching it during my college days and thanks to my old school) and I know QMUL students are non-existent in Magic Circle firms let alone be called to the Bar.

But, as I said, I didn't just choose it for its academic strength - but also because I really like the university!

Good for you, but I'm sure the vast majority of students would say that about their university.

This isn't a law forum but if you feel so strongly why don't you produce your own league table? To reiterate, it is top 10 in the country in the top newspaper league tables. We also have some outstanding professors - I've been taught by some of the leading authorities in their field and the authors of the main textbooks used by students all over the country. It makes a huge difference to your ability to succeed in exams and interviews.

I've researched too and that's not true - I know quite a few QM graduates at MC/ top firms (though not so much at the Bar which is still heavily Oxbridge at the top end). If they didn't want us, they wouldn't all come to the law fair. Most of my older friends secured TCs with MC/top firms. I also have other friends who had TCs there but chose to specialise in other areas. That's not to say that the law school hasn't improved a good deal in the last 5/6 years which will doubtless effect the pool of graduates in certain areas. After all, it requires AAA at A-level for mininum entry requirements.

I am very distressed at your attitude. It's not just that you're wrong - it's your arrogance. Obviously, QM students will know more than you about their own university, despite your 'research' and what you claim to 'know'.
