What's the best UofA accommodation?

Hi there,

I've recently accepted my unconditional offer to study BSc Chemistry starting Sep 2023 at UofA so now I'm starting to look at accommodation for first year but I'm really not sure what's best and what makes it the best. If anyone has any insight I'd love to know.

Thanks

Hi! Was going to see if anyone with experience staying in our accommodation had any input, but would be happy to provide some guidance.

Our housing office have a range of accommodation options available to undergraduate students, postgraduate students, and students bringing their families with them from abroad. These properties are located in Old Aberdeen and our Hillhead Student Village nearby, and there are a variety of types and sizes of accommodation on offer to meet a range of needs. You can find out more here: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/accommodation/
We also have some virtual tour videos of our accommodation which may be of interest: https://www.abdn.ac.uk/study/student-life/campus-city-tours.php#panel4854

If you are interested in renting privately, AUSA, our student association, have more information: https://www.ausa.org.uk/ausaadvice/accommodation/

Really hope this helps!

Hi there, thank you so much for your response!

I had another look and spoke to my parents and I've just booked my accommodation, I'm staying in New Carnegie Court starting September
As a current UoA student, I can confidently say that for first year, Hillhead is the place to be. It's far easier to meet people and make friends in the student village than in other private accom across the city.
As for which accomodation, there is no wrong choice. But I haven't met anyone who didn't enjoy their time in Hector Boece or Grant Court.
