Crown Prosecutor Role

Good morning,

I've noticed the recent advertisement of Crown Prosecutor roles. I'm coming up to completing my TC with a public body and am considering applying for the CP role.

Could anyone, who has become a CP from an NQ position, provide me with further detail on what the role is like, how they found the transition in their experience, training, work load etc.

Much appreciated

I’m not a CP but know some. NQCPs are based in Mags usually 5 days a week. You will get the opportunity to shadow and observe other CPs. The training is very structured; a mixture of online reading materials and instructor led. The only complaint I’ve heard is how slowly one can progress to dealing with serious cases compared to external counsel. Hope the above is useful.
