are three b's at gcse bad

they are in
physics
math
history ( i was ill on the day of paper one which is 60 marks and only managed to do questions worth 40 marks) - and got an a star in my mocks and a's throught the year



but i manged to get all a's and a stars in the rest

It's not good, but depends on what you want to do for uni. Uni generally don't care about gcse grades except for law and medicine, and some competitive courses in Oxbridge. You will need to work hard to get good predicted grades though.

At GCSE yes that is very good!! Unis generally don't care about GCSEs, get good A-levels and you will be fine, predicted grades aren't based off of GCSEs so you will be absolutely fine.

(This is coming from an A* student who cringes at bad grades- I'm not just saying this to make you feel better!)
