Did you add it as a GCSE or as a double GCSE?
A double GCSE is a different qualification to a GCSE.

My school told me, for applying to UCAS, you add combined science twice. If you got an 8-7, you would do combined science with 8 and combined science with 7. Or if it is 8-8, then you would do combined science 8 twice.

If the qualification type is GCSE double award then that’s right

Your school are wrong. A double GCSE isn’t the same as 2 single GCSEs.
UCAS has a specific GCSE Double Award qualification type which you should use.
