Required Practical 12 help

I'm currently planning my required practical 12 but my biology teacher isn't available. I'm planning to look into the affect of soil pH on Clover distribution, however I am unsure whether the experiment designed is supposed to be a lab or field experiment. Alongside that i am having a bit of trouble finding multiple studies to back up my plan.
