A level Maths and Further Maths

A little bit of background. I’m in Year 12, did mocks in May. I got an A in maths and B in Further Maths. I just want A’s in both subjects I’m not too fussed about A*s but my teacher does want me to aim for it.

The way our school teaches maths and f maths is different to others I guess. I should complete all maths content by October and I’m halfway through f maths.
It’s been a constant mix of both subjects, yr 1 and 2 content. I wouldn’t say I’m struggling to keep up but I am finding it hard to remember a lot. I’m finding the new year 2 f maths content more challenging, especially mechanics.
We have maths mocks coming up in November and I’ll be taking all 3 a level maths papers. Does anyone have any revision tips?

Obviously past papers are a must. I’d really recommend trying and marking one, or looking over a few you have tried and marked and using the questions you’ve lost marks on, identify your weak topics.

You should then focus your revision on said topics and ensure you become more familiar with them.

But since further maths differs massively with each exam board, it is difficult to give good recommendations of exactly which resources to use in your revision. Physics and Maths tutor and AMSP should be especially useful, regardless.

I’m doing AQA for Further maths. I’ve tried many past papers but I just found it so difficult that I gave up.

I’ll definitely try it over the summer though, thanks!

TLMaths is a dedicated resource for AQA A level further maths, so I’d recommend sticking to using it in conjunction with AMSP and PMT for the time being.

It’s good you’ve tried several past papers, so definitely mark them if you haven’t already - the questions you found the most problematic will highlight your weakpoints, so aim to sort those out first and foremost.

Ok thanks!
To be quite honest I am considering dropping further maths to focus on my main 3 A-levels. I’m not too sure at the minute.
