I will be going into year 13 next year, what approach should I take and how do I revise effectively for mocks

Active recall. Also depends on what subjects you're doing. I did History, Lit and Law.
I found revision cards extremely useful for memorising large chunks of information. I did this through question and answer revision cards, for subjects like law and history which are content heavy. Past papers are your best friends for subjects which have straightforward answers.
