do you have to defer all of your ucas applications?

i'm about to go into year 13 and want to take a gap year before i go to uni. however, i also want to apply to cambridge and am aware that they don't like people taking a year out. is it possible to apply with deferred entry to the 4 other courses and not for the cambridge course, or do you have to apply to all 5 courses with deferred entry?
You can do a mix, defer some and not defer others (at least that's what it was like when I applied for 2021)

Is that true?

King's say "We welcome applications from students who take a gap year between finishing school and starting at King's."

Christ's College: "On average, 20-25% of our intake at Christ's comes to us following one or more gap years. In every subject offered
at Christ's, we are neutral about gap years, which means that we don't mind whether you take a gap year or not."

You could contact the individual colleges to see what their opinion is -- be aware that it might vary between courses. And you'd need to make sure your skills don't "slip" during the year -- you don't want to turn up with rusty maths skills for a Maths degree, or rusty language skills for a languages degree.
