How do you guys write your english essays for GCSE?

Im doing cambridge IGCSE English Lit and Lang in 2024. I have spent my summer practicing answers for essays but they havent been so good. I follow the structure PQC (Point, Quote, Comment), but I keep on getting told I didnt go into enough depth. Is there anybody that has done it before or is doing it now that can help me please. Would really appreciate.

Hi, sorry to hear you're struggling with this. I loosely followed a Point Evidence Explain Analyse Link structure.

For analysis I would ask myself questions regarding my evidence or comments such as 'why does it matter?', 'what else could it mean?', or simply 'so what?'. These questions helped me go to the deeper layer of the quotes (the evidence).

Link would just be a sentence that links the topic of the paragraph back to the question, to make sure you're staying relevant.
