Hiya

You can buy a matriculation gown from your college- they will open the sales during/a week before freshers week so you don't have to worry about it right now. Just keep an eye on all JCR emails from your college as they'll send out info through that.

You can also buy a hand-me-down from other students who might be selling their gown- ads go up on the Facebook page- https://www.facebook.com/groups/272895459496646/?locale=en_GB. I found this option much better as a gown in pretty good condition only cost me £15 whereas buying from the college would've cost me around £40.
