A slightly simpler way to start the first one is to note that the area of PST is 20 (1/4 area scale factor) so
x(x - 4)/2 = 20
then solve using the quadratic formula as per the previous post.

Also for the second one, the length of the common radius is irrelevant and the area ratio is
1 : 4*sin(45) / 3*sin(60)
= ...
