Oxford Predicted grades UCAS

Can I apply to Oxford Law with predicted A*AB/ AAB, since my teachers do not want to be reasonable according to grades... If my LNAT goes amazing and my personal statement is good what is the likelihood I will receive an offer?

It's a bit pointless to apply without the grades asked for, especially for Law.

i've just had a look at the entry requirements for oxford law and they require AAA.
AAA, A*AA, A*A*A, or A*A*A* predicted grades would all be okay as they meet the entry requirements. i'm not an academic advisor but i don't think you can apply with A*AB/AAB because these grades don't meet the requirements. i'm pretty sure an A* can not make up for the B.

my advice would be to talk to your teachers again and firmly let them know that you want to apply to oxford for law and you need to be predicted an A in the subject that is currently a B

no, do not push teachers to over-predict, it's pointless. I am held to account for my predictions and there's no way any of my colleagues will do this and next August see these students in clearing!

I asked one of my teachers to change my predicted grade from a B to an A so I could apply to Oxford law and he agreed and did it. I ended up getting an A* in that subject and got into Oxford so it definitely can happen

One example does not prove you should do this ...

There isn't really any harm in doing it though, you get 5 uni choices after all, putting one ambitious choice and missing it wouldn't be the end of the world as long as OP picks a couple safer choices as well

I know but over-prediction is rife anyway so increasing already inflated grades isn't sensible.
I would say you have to be very clear your ability in terms of the grades. Be honest and think hard whether u can get the grade you're predicted (if it's a little bit higher). Nonetheless if you're set on applying for Oxford no matter not, then go and persuade your teacher. Put in an Oxford application and maybe 1-2 security choices to ensure u land yourselves somewhere. be extra careful when u choose your firm and insurance choice when you've heard back from all your choices.

In terms of whether you'll be competitive, I agree A*AB does not make up for an AAA. However, as I said if u really want to try, then by all means go ahead. Alas u might have a choice in landing an offer because Oxford views your application holistically (so who knows).

Unless you are predicted AAA at least there is no hope of Oxford Law.0ffers were made to only 8.9% of candidates last year.
