My mum screamed at me for my anxiety attack

I told my mum I had my first anxiety attack after being anxious for a while. She blamed my diet and screamed at me whilst I was crying at her to go away. I thought she’d be supportive but now I just feel worse
I'm so sorry :frown: My mum did the same to me a lot when I was in my teens and a lot of her reaction came from a lack of understanding, so it could be the same for your mum as well. Is she the kind of person that you normally would feel comfortable talking to about these kinds of things? This incident aside of course. Maybe it's just a matter of trying to explain what you are going through and why you are so anxious and how it has built up. I would also advise reaching out to your GP for support as well, don't let yourself suffer through it all alone!
