Digital Bootcamp

I'm struggling to get on to a coding or data bootcamp.

I'm on Universal Credit and meet all the eligibility criteria, but I'm receiving replies 'due to limited funding' or 'full' or no replies.

I'm in the South West and am applying for January 2024 start ones, but can start at anytime.

Has anyone successfully enrolled on one starting in January 2024?

I've gone through all the ones on the .Gov Find a Skiils Bootcamp page.

Any advice please?

Thanks

I don't know what your level is but there are some amazing free resources available - If you are new to programming start with Harvard's CS50 program (https://cs50.harvard.edu/x/2023/), all the lectures are available for free and cover Web, AI, Python (for data) and Game programming - there is loads of other topics too (e.g. CyberSecurity etc) if you go to their YouTube page. If you go via Edx you'll get a certification on completion (but for a fee).

There are loads of other great free places too - freecodecamp is my personal favourite. There are online step by step tutorials on number of topics, they have a great community board if you get stuck and a huge library of Youtube video. They give out certification on completion for free.

Have you tried AICore? I'm not sure if they are running it now or if it is too late to start this year, I know I have seen people post who started in Sept. I applied a week or two ago and haven't heard back from them yet. There are no deadlines or dates on their website so I'm hoping I can start soon. The email confirmation i received said I should hear within 21 days. They do some basics in software engineering and coding and then you can specialise, one of the routes is data analytics and oneis engineering.

Yes, had this reply from AiCore 'We regret to inform you that due to limited funding from the Department for Eduction, we are unable to offer you a place at this time'

I guess you'll receive the same email shortly.......

Oh no :frown: I was concerned that it had been a while. How long did it take them to contact you after youa pplied if you don't mind me asking? It's frustrating as it seems there are so many of these bootcamps but I'm struggling to find one that fits in with my part time work or not getting replies...
