Could't find a post for Scotgem 2024 Entry so I decided to create one. Hopefully I did it right

Ive received today an interview invite 😀 I was wondering if anyone has any tips for interview preparation that's specific for Scotgem?

Does any one mind sharing if they are international or their GAMSAT score?
(edited 5 months ago)
Hi, I am hoping to apply for Scotgem for 2025 entry and was wondering if anyone could give me some idea of my chances of getting in and/or give some advice on how to improve my chances.
I have a 2.1 Scots Law and Economics degree from Glasgow uni, an A in advanced higher biology and an A in higher chemistry. I live in Dumfries and Galloway and my hope is to become a GP in this area. I don’t really have any relevant experience so I know this is something I will need to get started on asap, and I am hoping to sit the GAMSAT in September. I was just wondering whether the fact that my degree isn’t science-related and I won’t have significant experience will result in my application being disregarded, given that entry is extremely competitive?

You don't need a science degree to be considered for Scotgem, as long as yout gain some relevant work experience and a decent GAMSAT score you have a competitive application

How was your interview?
I am wondering if being in the third batch for interview is a bad thing.. have they invited the ones they wanted in the previous batches?

I think the interview went well, it was more relaxed than I thought.. don't think it matters when your interview us, getting an interview is the important part! And not sure what you mean by your second question regarding inviting the ones from the previous batch?
Does anyone know when offers get sent out?

Ah okay, judging by last year's threads it was mid march to early april I think.

Yes last year's first batch of offers was out on the 15th March I believe, so maybe by the end of next week some of us will know:smile: and others in the next few weeks
Has anyone heard anything yet?
