moelis (investment bank) screens out candidates under 240 UCAS points

that's at least 5 A levels, or 4 Alevels and an AS, or an ungodly number of ABRSM exams. so dumb, most schools won't even let you take 4 a levels now, let alone 5.
it's essentially a way to make sure only public school students can apply ffs
It's not lol. Moelis' platform is horridly outdated, their UCAS screen is based on the old UCAS point system (where 3 A*s translates into 420 UCAS points and 3 C's translates into 240 points) Look up the system.

No bank, especially not Moelis, would be able to demand that high of a score under the current (post 2017) system

haha ok that makes more sense. Have you applied/ worked there? Do other grad employers do this too?
ig I'll still have to use my current ucas points tho cos would look dodgy otherwise

I just applied to their summer 2025 internship and I got A*AA and I was also shocked when I saw how outdated their UCAS system was. I'm now just preparing to take their numerical and verbal tests, but I don't know if it is worth it if i won't even get passed their screening. Did you apply to a similar position and what happened if you applied?
