I was on a cam site and i met a girl we went on instagram and she showed me a video of me masturbating and said give me 500 pounds or i send it everywhere i said no and she showed me screenshots of her sending it to my followers i kinda thought it was a bot because the messages were kinda automated i then checked with the people she sent screenshots of sending it to but they didnt get anything so they were fake ever since then the video was on streamable has been deleted her instagram account has been deleted its been a day and nothing has been sent at all and i have been stressing do you think she will send it eventually because everything has been erased and i dont know whether the fact that its been deleted on streamable it means its deleted everywhere. do you think it will be sent as i have had no contact from her to anyone or me.

Hi there. What she was attempting to do was illegal and immoral. As she is now covering up her tracks by deleting her account and the video then I think it is unlikely that anything will be sent - doing so is likely to get her a police investigation (if you report it), and she will realise that she is not going to get any money from you. Please be careful in the future with sharing videos online.

This does look concerning so I would report it to whatever reporting system Instagram has, and maybe one of those online safety websites that deal with revenge porn or something along those lines (you're going to have to research this more).

However, from what I've read, it looks like you've managed to call the cam girl's bluff. My guess as to why they didn't actually send the video of you is because they didn't want you to escalate the matter into a full blown investigation, or maybe they felt pity on you.

Regardless, it looks like you've confirmed that the video wasn't actually sent to anyone, and I doubt it would be in the future. Just be more careful next time (personally would advise staying away from cam girls altogether because it's quite a scummy industry, but obviously that's your own choice).

This happened to a friend of mine and he was pretty shaken up about it. Its been a year since it happened and nothing happened. Just make sure you block them on all socials and dont contact them. Contacting them will only make it worse and might make them send it. Even if they do send them, it is a crime so i dont think they would risk it for that. My friend is apart of a groupchat on instagram that helps with stuff like this. Its run by vicitms of sextortion and they provide advice and are pretty kind.
