i've got a good feeling about this year, feels like things have been a bit miserable since covid.

If you're looking for ideas, then I can suggest the following:

Personal fitness:

Get into the best shape of your life within 3 months

Not put the holiday weight back on this year

Skills for generating income (typically takes a few months or less if you pick an online course) - pick one:

Learn copywriting and marketing

Take a REP accredited personal training course

Do a recognised TESOL course e.g. CELTA, Trinity College's CertTESOL

Learn videography and photography

Programming language

Creative endeavours:

Write a book or novel of your choice

Produce at least 3 paintings

Carve a sculpture out of clay, fruit, or a vegetable

Attend a series drama workshop throughout the year e.g. improv

Create a piece of music/record yourself performing a piece of music

Learn to play an instrument

Design a short game

Bucket list like goals:

Learn a language that means something to you (or acquire it if you can do it in 1-3 months)

Volunteer for 3 months at a charity

Travel to 1 country that you always wanted to go to

Learn to drive/motorcycle

Watch the top 100 films

Read the top 100 books

Take a short course on cooking

Learn how to fix a car/bike/computer

Attend a self development/life coaching seminar

Get a style/wardrobe makeover

Learn to play a new sport

Learn how mix a new cocktail that you like

Spend a day/week doing some serious reflection on your life and think through the direction you want to take your life - speak to a life coach if necessary

Volunteer at an old people's home at least for a day

Find a mentor to learn from, depending on your goals

List the things that excites you and describe who you think you are as a person; ask a friend/family membert to see how accurate your description is

Attend a dance class of your choice

Things that you should have done:

Lose holiday weight

Contact the family or friend that you have been meaning to talk to

Talk to the person that you have been meaning to talk to but never got round to doing it

Talk to 10 different new people each week

Read the book that has been sitting on your shelf for the last X months/years; if not, listen to the audiobook version whilst traveling to and from work/college/uni

Finish the course that you have started but not yet finish

Learn to cook

Clean up your room at least monthly

Learn to invest and save

Get your finances in order/learn how to manage your finances

Meet up with a counsellor - if required

Buy a water filter

Buy a slow cooker and pressure cooker

Sleep normal hours

Quit smoking and drinking

Buy new clothes and donate the ones that you don't need or want to keep

Plan your revision and revise well

Watch videos on how to study and revise for your subjects

Attend at least 1 birthday party/gathering

Research the careers that you want e.g. Career Pilot, National Careers Services, Prospects

Watch the film/series you have been meaning to watch

I think the following can help people stick to resolutions for longer:

1.

Don't do more than 5 at a time

2.

Have the 5 things/mood board stuck somewhere in the room where they will see it daily

3.

Have deadlines and clear periods where the resolutions are carried out - schedule everything/have a set routine

4.

Keep a diary to monitor your progress - take photos/record videos thoughout if appropriate - reflect daily/weekly

5.

Have an accountability partner - not a friend who just encourages you (better yet, have someone who shares the same goals as you to do it alongside you)

6.

Find someone who has achieved the goal and keep in regular contact for advice and monitor progress

7.

Clean out things in your local environment (room, house, desk, etc.) what are not conducive to the goals e.g. junk food

The above should take about 10-15 minutes to do and then about 5 minutes a day on an ongoing basis

I wouldn't say too thorough. There should be people who have other ideas that they could add to the list.

If it helps, then I would be delighted to know how you get on with it.

Although I haven't shared any of my own resolutions, did you wanted to share some of yours?
