If the university i am aiming for is in the US, do I need to take any alternative to AP or Honours classes?

as far as i know, you don't have to take ap or honors classes, those kinds of classes are optional for students who are willing to take a risk to get extra credits

not sure what you mean by here, but i'm in the us. ap and honors classes are extra classes that have an important test at the end of the year, and your score on that test can either show extra credit (which is a bonus when unis review your application) or bring your entire grade down. these classes are not mandatory, but are for students who want extra credit.
