A very 'English' gift?

Hi TSR, I could use your help.

A couple of families in different parts a developing country have offered to take me in for a few weeks whilst I do some field work. I have very little money, but I would like to give each family a gift to say thank you. I thought it would be nice if it were a little trinket that is distinctly English in flavour.

Any ideas?

I always take tea and shortbread with me when I travel... It's usually well received. Chocolate is prone to melt...

Marmite, chocolate, tea, anything that you can't really get anywhere else.

little model things of houses of parliament, big ben etc...
or the "I love London" shirts you can get in Oxford Street...theres actually a really good store there that sells all sorts of things woth Great Britain motifs on them.
