This is exactly why the whole concept of "virginity" is stupid and outdated.

um lol.... i don't see how 'the whole CONCEPT of virginity' is outdated... care to enlighten me??

They're not virgins.
But that shouldn't matter.
If they decided to say they were, I wouldn't argue.

It's not. A lot of people who are raped when virgins continue to define themselves as virgins because they never chose to have sex. For them the act involves choice and willingness, so they feel they are still virgins. It's a coping mechanism and quite common. It's also quite damaging for them if someone comes along and tries to tell them that they are no longer virgins.

well done, another kid ****ing over her
This discussion is utterly pointless. I'm not sure what we can hope to achieve with this "debate" aside from hurting a rape victim's feelings and ability to cope with trauma.
Technically, no. Emotionally, yes.
Original post by Hylean
I would leave that up to them.

Exactly this. Virginity can be a pretty subjective term anyway.
No, they're not virgins anymore, because it's still sex even though very unpleasant.
If they've had intercourse then they're not a virgin. The term "virgin" is a bit archaic anyway. And pointless too - what's the point in having a term for people who have not had intercourse, why stop there, what about creating a term for people who have only had oral but not vaginal? Why not a term for anal-virgins too?

Who cares?

Technically they're not but I would exactly class myself as one if it was me.

This.

Is that really the most important issue after a rape?
If your Hymen has been broken, you are not a virgin in my eyes.

Wow some people can be really insensitive sometimes. rapists go all out to make a girl feel real special only for some to come back with "that doesn't count as sex i'm still a virgin!" poor guys.
