Anyone fancy explaining Maclaurin and Taylor series to me? It's going straight over my head.
Its an expansion of any f(x)

a maclaurin series is just a taylor series where a=0 i.e. the expansion is centred (most accurate) around 0

To expand f(x) into a taylor series form simply follow the expansion formulea much as you would with the binomial expansion.

The expansion contains many f'(a) and F'''(a) and derivitives such as that which makes it slightly more tricky than binomial expansions
Do you struggle with questions such as
f(x) = sinx
expand into a taylor series with acending powers of (x+3)

or the ones that come as a solution to a differential equation?

The idea is you get numbers for f(a), f'(a), f''(a), f'''(a) (however many terms it asks for in the question)
and place them into the taylor expansion formulea
