True! It does sound like he had a rough time though, I can imagine being pretty pissed off at being shouted at for somebody else's mistakes. I think it comes as a bit of a shock because all banks portray this bull**** about their 'team' culture where everything's rosey but really there's a massive hierarchy.

No idea man. You have to pass it to get to the verbal though and usually you should be told straight away after the test. I think in that test I got at most 2 wrong.

But I think they use a different pass mark to get to the interview stage.

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, I completely messed up BarCap's numerical and yet somehow got to the verbal stage? It was the hardest numerical that I've done so far and I got loads of weird questions (ended up guessing like 6 of them 'cos they were really weird) but I somehow got the minimum pass mark.

Was genuinely convinced that I wouldn't progress past it! :confused:

Yeh, similar to me. I knew i got a few wrong but was hoping it would still be enough. How was the verbal? That test really ***** me up but I'm still hoping a similar miracle to the numerical will occur.

Haven't taken the verbal yet! I'm usually good with verbals, so I'm not stressing too much...

A former analyst/associate at JP talking to a friend of mine said when he was there applications got given at random to analysts who gave them thumbs up thumbs down for interview based on whatever criteria they decided--mainly CV and a little look at the cover letter. Sounds a bit haphazard, maybe it's changed in the past couple years.
