Thanks for the help! And don't worry I've got an extra L so I think we'll be alright What accommodation have you applied for? There were 3 Callum's in my year at school so only 2 is a relief
Yay! I was really scared everyone would have A levels and know loads and I'd be completely confused by it all Thank God I won't be the only non-classicist there
Haha. I did history, Government and politics and religious studies at A levels. Did you go to the open days...I didn't. Are there many doing the same course?

I'm hoping for Jack Martin or Rootes you? and yeah, that extra 'l' means you're name can be "callum with 2 els" and I can be referred to as just "calum"

I did History, English Language, Biology and Maths cause I really couldn't decide what I wanted to do I went to an open day a few months ago but it was a general Classics one so it was anyone who was doing anything at all do to with Classics not just our course I think there were about 10 people who did the archaeology part but that's just one open day so its hard to guess really
am I the only one who will be staying at home and going to warwick uni There's just no point staying in halls when my house is 5 mins away :'( I just couldn't turn down WARWICK

Hahahah. I just hope that there aren't many in the course lol - much effective in learning lol

I'm hoping for Jack Martin too, this could be awkward haha or I can be 'Callum' and you be 'the other Calum'

I don't think there should be too many people, its a pretty specialised course. Probably not as many as a maths course or anything Well we know there will be at least 2 haha
About the Arrivals Weekend, when do most freshers leave their parents? For instance, is it common for families to attend the 'Vice-Chancellor's welcome address for families' at 2pm. I'm just thinking 2pm is a bit late in the day. I wouldn't want to miss out on meeting everyone that's all
I'm just about to start Politics and Sociology, and I'm a little concerned about what work needs to be done prior to starting the course. PAIS sent an optional reading list (though Sociology haven't yet) and I've done both Politics and Sociology A Levels (though the politics A level should really be called Political Processes for all the actual theory done.)
Is there any prep work any of you lot have done/recommend? Also, would I be cheesy in baking desserts for the moving day for those in my hall? Don't want to be seen as trying to buy over my new hall mates but I do like baking.
Go for it. Somebody in my kitchen did, and started a year-long exchange of cakes that wound up with us having 3-4 cakes most weeks.

You don't have to go to that with them. It's a decent excuse to get rid of your parents and get on with meeting people.

Hi everyone. I will be studying Chemistry with management this october. I just wanted to ask what events are not included with the freshers passport and whether it is worth buying the platinum card or not.
The platinum card is only worth it if you are planning on buying a freshers passport, attending the summer party, going to Pop! every week, and going to a couple of other events, such as Skool dayz.
If you're not planning on going to Pop! every week, (which is the only SU night which is actually worth going to, aside from a couple of select others), then you are better off with just the freshers passport and then buying individual tickets to events. You get more flexibility this way. but it does mean though that you have to be on the ball, as tickets for Skool Dayz and other popular events (Usually end of term "Pop!"s) tend to sell out fast.

Still we both are northerners...some with better accents
The first time I went to America some guy got really excited when he found out I was from Newcastle because he'd been to Manchester Airport and they're both in Northern England; I think he thought they were next door!
Geordie accents are way better than Lancashire ones though - we are always voted the most friendly
Haha I don't really know at the open day they say you can do loads of things from like teaching and writing to law or field archaeology, but I guess they would say that
SU jobs? Depends. There'll be 4/5 applicants to 1 place, so it's not difficult, nope . If you have a first aid qualification, you can easily get a first aid job. There were a 2 applicants to 1 place at the last sign up
