Sorry this has probably been asked 20 times but I have no idea what to do about student finance right now - I've enrolled and everything but is there anything else I need to do or will SLC just do everything automatically?

Is there a gaming society at Warwick? Alternatively, do people bring games consoles (PS3)? I'm presuming you wouldn't need a TV license for this.

I'm bringing my Xbox 360 and no, you don't need TV Licence for it.

please help.
I have accepted my accommodation offer but my "Contact address" and "Term time accommodation" on Student Records have not been changed. And when I click into Student Finance, it doesn't show my Accommodation fees under "Statement of outstanding charges".

My term time accomodation address hasn't changed either, I'm guessing we'll just have to wait, because the residential team are meant to fill it in. And as for the std finance thing, someone correct me if I'm wrong but I have a feeling that on the first day of term the uni will notify student finance that we are attending and so then we'll get the accom fee paid to us? Also, have you set up your direct debit?

I just sent an email to Warwick asking about the accom fee thing. I will let you know when they reply.
No, I haven't set up my dd, I don't have a bank account, and I can't apply for one as I am not in the UK. I am paying my 1st bit of my fees by bank transfer.(well , my parents are paying.)

Ok, so I put them paint party ticket in my basket yesterday noon, then went away, came back in the evening, wanted to buy it and then it was sold out. Oh well...

On the upside, I've found 18 societies I will be joining. Yay.

Edit: Oh, wait. You have to ask something... Ok, here it goes: I still have a Warwick Eating card form 2010 - I suppose I can't do anything at all with it anymore as you're using your student IDs to pay nowadays?

I should probably start buying tickets to events as they appear to be selling out rather quickly...

Have you received any money yet? I enrolled the same day as you and I don't appear to have anything :frown:

If you log on to your Student Finance account, you will be able to find the date you will be paid :yep: . It's usually the first Monday of term, so the 30th September :h:

Well, no luck with the enrolment board since they haven't responded in well over 24 hours, so I might as well ask again. At the Uni Details section of the enrolment form, if I've already accepted their offer of accommodation (Sherbourne, 39 weeks), am I supposed to choose "Hall of Residence (on campus)" and leave the address thing completely empty for the Accommodation Office to fill in? My counselor said I should manually add the address of the hall, but this contradicts what they themselves are suggesting, and neither the enrolment board nor the accommodation one seem to want to respond.

EDIT: Nope, it's worse than I thought. Manually deleting the address in that section also removes every detail under "my correspondence address" at the personal details section. Had to change the country to England there as well. Confusing.

Yeah i know that, but they are going to be notified on the first day of term that we are attending the uni, and i'm guessing that's when they'll pay us the maintenance loan we are entitled to.

Yeah, just send them an email, I did that for a problem I had too, they'll get back to you in a few days

I did the same completely missed the freshers passports and platinum cards, just bought tickets for Avalanche, Jaguar Skills Live, Rave Digger Tour, Hall Wars, Las Vegas Night and of course a hall hoody!

So far I've got tickets for Paint Party, Hall Wars, Crash, Comedy Night and the movie Pub Quiz - Pop sold out and I want to buy a Vegas party ticket, but I won't have the money until Monday :/ I hope really they don't run out...
Is it best to start joining societies now (buying membership) or just wait until I get to uni?

This is probably a bit late, but you should leave it blank.

It depends. If you know you want to join them, you may as well do it now. If you aren't sure, wait until you get there and have a chance to chat with them.

Yes. You can find our website here.

Alternatively, do people bring games consoles (PS3)?

I don't do much with the console stuff, but from what I've noticed, it's mostly based around XBox360 and older consoles on Fridays. You'd be unlikely to not be able to find some people to play with you though.

I'm presuming you wouldn't need a TV license for this.

No, you don't.

Wait until you get to uni :yep: . That way, you can go along to the FREE first few sessions so you can a) see whether you actually enjoy it, and b) see if it fits into your, inevitably, heavy timetable of lectures and socialising :yep:
