Anyone heard from Cumbria? They are the last choice I'm waiting on now.

Might depend on which campus your applying to, but they got back to me on the 4th for an interview at Lancaster for primary

Ah ok, thanks. I've applied at Lancaster too, but for secondary R.E. I guess I will just have to wait and see!

as a heads up the interview information is freely available on their website if you wanted a hopeful headstart, I found it before I got an offer

I have applied for primary too! Good to know that other people haven't heard back yet either!

I've actually applied for the primary with maths specialism. Keep forgetting! Hopefully we'll hear soon  I'm waiting to hear back from Leicester and Warwick too

I've seen it actually because they also have some details on time scales for deciding interviews, so I came across it via that. Very useful, although if I get an interview there it sounds like it would be the hardest out of the three for me!

Thanks

It does look more challenging than the guidance for my other choice Durham, but luckily some of the mini teach options are very similar to topics I have led in school! And your welcome

Hi

Just wondered if anyone had heard back from Strathclyde about an interview? I have applied for Biology with Science but not heard anything :/

They have said no to my application for Maths.

On the plus side i got an interview for Glasgow for Biology on the 17th

Good luck at Glasgow! How quickly was it from submitting your application to getting your rejection from Strathclyde? Been nearly a week for me and I've had nothing. I'm applying for Secondary English.

Glasgow uni has emailed me to ask for my SQA results and uni transcript but as I'm moving house my SQA stuff is in storage so I don't know if I'll get it to them quickly enough for interview.

One tip I will give people is get a basic understanding of the main changes in the proposed National Curriculum for 2014. I was asked about it, so it may pop up at other interviews

I have applied to Leeds met and York St Johns too. Have got an interview through from York but no where else yet. I'm so inpatient
Don't know if it's against the rules, but does anyone have advice for presentations? Please?

Ahh how was it? I'm from Leicester but living in Southampton so haven't had a chance to go to an open evening! Yeh fingers crossed! There's so many people on here that have interviews and it seems to be for the same few uni's...

It's only against the rules to give close details about what your interview was like (especially if you say which uni). It's fine for people to give more general advice and tips.

My advice would be keep in mind that they are looking for potential to be a great teacher, not a perfectly formed teacher. So don't panic thinking your ideas aren't good enough. Just make sure you think about/research what you're presenting about fully and practice roughly what you are going to say so you know it well (though you don't have to keep the same words etc every time! Just know the structure).

Also try to keep nerves down. Based on a general picture of what goes on I'd say most interviewers will be aware that you're nervous and understand this, and also try to make it less scary. It's unlikely to be 'Stand here and recite perfectly to lots of strangers'.

Xxx

Has anyone heard from bath spa yet?

I have an interview there on 18th December for early years PGCE. What have you applied for?

I've been advised to aim for clear delivery and voice projection, and to make sure that you stand up straight and keep your head up. Also not to panic if you make a mistake, because it inevitably happens in teaching, so just to calmly correct yourself and keep going.

Seems easy when you say it like that...
Hey, has anyone had interviews for Schools Direct yet? My Ucas says I have an interview but not been emailed by the school yet.

I'm the same. I have an interview on 16th December according to UCAS but I've not heard from the school as yet. Bit annoying as I want to start preparing but don't know what I'll be expected to do!
