Not doing an EPQ when applying for Medicine at Cambridge?

I go to a school where they offer EPQs to everyone. I've chosen not to do one for several reasons, but I want to apply for Medicine at Cambridge.

How much have I hindered my chances of an offer, assuming I get a good UMS average (ie 96%) and I have 10 A*s at GCSE.

I also plan to do extra reading surrounding Medicine and science generally and I have done a few weeks work experience plus volunteering at a local care home.

Thoughts will be appreciated!
Not much at all. The EPQ isn't necessary.

I'm amazed you even went as far as 'not much'.

Oh what can I say, I must be a cynic at heart.
I wouldn't worry.
UMS seems to be where the real difference is made.

Hmmm ok I see. I think it's mostly an unconscious peer pressure thing.
