In previous years, you had to do an exercise that was taken from e-tray at your analytical assessment centre. The e-tray has a part that's answering emails, how would you respond to these situations, and another part that involves a lot of reading material and having to put together a briefing on it. This second part is quite full on as it's tight for time and is tiring. They used to take this second part from e-tray and tag it on to the analytical assessment centres which was a bit of a killer getting hit by that after a full session of analytical assessment exercises.
So now that part has been removed from the analytical assessment centres and instead everyone has to do e-tray. Whilst it means you have to do the other part of e-tray as well, it does break it in to two sessions and so stops the usual complaint from people at analytical centres that the extra exercise was too much - they didn't give you much warning about it either, when I did EAC there was just a line in the invite saying 'there will be an additional non-economics exercise that you don't need to prepare for' so I just thought fine it's probably some mickey mouse thing, and that was by far the hardest part of the day!

Last year, they started results’ assertion progressively from 25th of September 2013; customarily it should be earlier than the previous year, but it could be the next week.
Hi fellow Fast Stream hopefuls! I'm applying for Generalist and European, just finished the online tests and waiting for the results. I took ages over the Competency, which I thought was tough. Any idea if they're testing more for consistency in your responses or for someone who shows aptitude in various areas?
If the competency test is contrasting to verbal and numerical reasoning tests, re-evaluation is essential. They could reassess either candidate.

Well I can choose Parliament or Foreign Office at some point but I think that comes much later

For Generalist that is actually the next stage after the tests, I believe.
