Acorn , Polar, grades and your school information all played a substantially bigger part during selection than personal statements.

It's similar to things used by schools to help work out target grades, it uses your postcode to determine averages about your area.

I've got another summer school lined up so hopefully I get into that one! I've also subscribed to a few Engineering MOOCs on FutureLearn that run during the summer which will be something to look forward to!
