How does this compare to laws that literally placed black people below animals??

Jim Crow laws were applied more broadly (to pretty much everything) rather than just school admissions. The principle is the same however.

I doubt that HBCU'S are the biggest threat to racial harmony tbh! Surely the large amount of deaths from racist police brutality is more of a concern in the US?

I can't say "large" amount because it's less than 500 a year but it's an issue. I think British people have a hard time relating to a country with 300 million people.
Do you live in this country now?

Because black people are mainly shown in a negative light by the media thus are perceived to all be drug dealers/thieves etc.

This shows this is not the case, they are completing their education and bettering themselves, giving their future kids the best chance available too by graduating and being able to work in a higher/better paid job.

Any other reasons required?

I really wish this America = the rest of the world mentality would stop.

I was comparing your statement to the KKK.

I would compare the OP to Jim Crow laws.

Sir you don't know a damn thing about Jim Crow Laws. I am from Georgia my hometown (Atlanta , GA) was literally burned to the ground during the Civil war. Martin Luther King is from my city. You can't educate me on my life.

Btw NO I didn't want to attend school with white people and a European focused education. So I chose to attend an HBCU so I could discover more about my roots and the history and contributions of African Americans Beyonce the slave trade.

I can take African American studies as an elective at Univ. of Ga but at NC A&T State it is a REQUIREMENT>

HBCU's don't have to be "fixed". Police brutality against people of colour is something that should have been dealt wih long ago but people refuse to hold the right people accountable.

I think they do, purely based on principle.

This is where I agree. A lot of abuse did seem to go under the radar. Not so much now with digital media everywhere but there are still cases which slip past like Tamir Rice.

"Black Pride" is important and Black Nationalism is very important to America. You would need to know racial history in this country to understand that. RACE has ALWAYS played an essential part in American live pretty much every decade.

And this is exactly what we hate about America

The thing is, us people in the UK, seriously do not care about this stuff. Use whatever excuses you want to surround yourself with people from your own race, that's fine, but don't try to spread it here where it's not needed.

I find the idea of a de facto all-black university a little disturbing - it normalises racial segregation.

LOL London Black Twitter would disagree with this statement.

I do sideeye the large amount of interracial dating in the UK by Black British though it is concerning. I'm also concerned how in theUK "Mixed race women" have replaced Black women. There doesn't seem to be a "Black Pride" amount the Black British population either.

I see on twitter all the time on how minorities in Enlgand don't feel "English" or like they fit in.

That's very different than America where you have 40 Million Black people who are NOT immigrants, and 50 Million Hispanics and 20 Million Asians etc...

Replace "Black Pride and Nationalism" with "White Pride and Nationalism" and tell me that doesn't sound like something the KKK would say.

Why is it so hard for you to understand that black pride and white pride cannot be compared because they have different histories and connotations. Black people were enslaved, killed, oppressed and encountered horrific atrocities for centuries caused by white people. Hence black pride is used to empower an oppressed minority. Why can you not just try to see things from other points of view instead of getting upset that you are not included. This argument about white pride infuriates me beyond belief.
Omfg there's nothing more moronic than when a coloured person starts specialising people based on their colour.

Hypocritical dip****.

Or we just want an education with a black perspective instead of biased European perspective that undermines our importance and influence to this country. If I wanted an education that told me my people were uncivilized until the mighty European came to rescue us and bring us to this prosperous land of America then I would have went to UGA! Instead I went to A&T and learned that we built this country from the ground up, gave this country a soul and voice beloved world wide and developed powerful social leaders.

I have to add though, I think this thread is better suited on an american forum. The race problems in the UK are different to those in America

After a google search, I still have no idea what "London Black Twitter" is, I don't even use twitter, so I can't really comment there

Why does interracial dating even bother you? If you don't want to date outside your own race then don't, but don't try to judge us for not actively going out of our way dating black men/women to make you happy.

Yes, it's different. Black people in America are often descendent from the slave trade, in the UK we're usually 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants. Our culture is different, because we're by and large two different groups of people.

That second paragraph is more than disturbing.

You are quite literally the black equivalent of the KKK, and your minority status doesn't excuse the fact you're a hopelessly deluded racist.
