I'm doing higher linear papers. i struggle with paper 2, so can you give me an indication of whats coming up
Your teachers could use the summer 2015 paper, the November 2015 paper, an older paper, an official 2015 mock paper that edexcel have recently provided or a paper that they have made themselves. Cheating on your mock by seeing the paper beforehand won't help you do well in the real exam.
Anything that wasn't on your non-calculator paper could appear on calculator so think back to what was on it. Scatter graphs? Box plots? Cumulative frequency? Factorise? Expand brackets? Vectors? Simultaneous equations? Algebraic fractions / algebraic fraction equations .... Many of the topics that will be there will not require a calculator. Topics that do often feature are: Pythagoras Trigonometry (SOHCAHTOA) Advanced trigonometry (sine, cosine and area of a triangle rules) Area and volume, especially involving circles or prisms. Trial and improvement Solving quadratics using the formula Estimate a mean from grouped data Histograms (if not on non calc) Cumulative frequency (if not on non calc) Probability (any topics not on non calc) % problems that need a calculator using multipliers Reverse % (original price calculations) Compound interest. Value for money calculations.
And at the risk of repeating, ANY topic that could be done with or without a calculator that wasn't tested on non-calc (algebra, circle theorems, angle facts on parallel lines, interior/exterior angles, bearings.....) Posted from TSR Mobile
