Failing university due to mental health

And yes it is real before anyone thinks I am just being lazy. Anytime I look at course material nothing goes in because my mind is ****ed so i am messing my final year up and university would have been a waste now my life is over. :cry2:

Let your university know, you can apply for mitigating circumstances.

Receiving couselling.
Titor and your GP so they know and can take account of it. If its properly diagnosed then you cna do things like redo the year or take it into account, but they have to be combined in the legitimacy. You need to do that sooner rather than later becayse the later you leave it the less sympathetic they will be.

I have already done that before- it will be too embarrassing applying for it again.
If you are getting counseling and your titor knows then you cna work out how you wish to proceed as in what options are available.

If you're genuinely unwell they wont care how many times you apply, talking from experience not applying for mitigating circumstances cost me a first - it sucks.

What exactly can they do except give you a chance to repeat the year again?

they'll let you repeat the exam(s) you failed in. The difference between this and a normal resit is you won't be capped at a pass, they might also be a little more lenient with your classification come graduation if they're made aware of your mental health problems well in advance.

Talk to your tutor, they will pay attention to what your GP and counselor say.

If you decide you are going to fail, then you have nothing to lose.
the fact you say you are too emarrassed or dont have a leg to stand on is neither here nor there. Talk to your department and they will tell you what your options are. If you are genyunely ill and not better then the same situation applies as last time. they may just let you leave uni without your degree and return when you are better.

If you are ill you are ill.

What if I never get better though?
Before you can focus on your work, you have to focus on yourself. Get the right help and support that will then enable you to do your university work better!

There no way that will happen in 2 months. I cant believe I am destroying myself like this. There are some people who never even get the chance to go to university yet my brian is doing everything it can to mess things up. But I am my brain so basically I am weak minded. Its ******* pathetic.

Unlikely. If you have a real problem and its not been treated then they will accpet its not been treated and you are still ill. If you are as poorly as you say then whether you get your degree or not isnt going to make any difference becayse you arent in a good place to do anything with it.

You need to talk to your GP or if you are referred to a specialist and see how your treatement is going and what their prognosis is. Get better first.

I feel you completely. I am literally in the same exact position. My mental health is really stopping me from doing what I need to do before my exams which are in 2 months. I am also already repeating the year and I have mitigating circumstances. The best thing that is being advised to me right now is asking for help and support around me and using my resources instead of trying to do it all myself. You are not destroying yourself and its not your fault that your mental health isn't intact and I'm sorry you have to deal with it in such a crucial time. It is not your fault. You need talk to someone about this - preferably a doctor. At least begin to get help, it will make all the difference if not a lot. Its not your capability that is stopping you, its all the things in between. You can do it, you just need to get rid of the things that are preventing you from doing it such as emotional blocks etc which can only be done with the support of other people. Its okay to ask for help.
maybe stop beating yourself up and heaping even more stress on yourself. Agree a program of chance with your therapist. maybe some CBT or NLP exercises to help you cope better.

Are you doing that and is it helping? What kind of things are the university doing for you. I am getting help outside of university- sort of.

I am beating myself up because my mindset in stupid and destructive. I won't get far with it and I am really annoyed at myself for losing control and letting things get like this. But no matter how much I want to change the mindset it doesn't work and it just get worse- that is frustrating.
