Magnesium hydroxide has quick relief with little absorption and has prolonged action with no production of carbon dioxide, which can be harmful. My question is why is it harmful ?

Increasing levels of CO2 in the atmosphere causes global warming.
Thanks leafcannon but is that the only reason it is harmful ?
Well that's pretty much the only thing I've heard of in class that's attributed to CO2. I think it does have some toxic properties, yet I don't remember seeing a question that required having to know this in any of the three sciences, as most of the stuff is in relation to the environment.
