Maths resist 2016 novemeber question

There was a question which was asking which shop was cheaper or something like that...
normal price = 1500
find 60% of the normal price (1500)then find 15% of that price
my answer was 60% of £1500 is £900 then i found 15% of £900 which was £135 then i added 900+135 and i got 1035 which then i took away from 1500 and i got £465 in total for the first shop

Then the second shop was simple is asked you to take away 2/3thirds of 1500 which was 1000 meaning you take 1000 from 1500 which leaves you with 500 for the second shop

so my conclusion the first shop was cheaper im i wrong or right helpp me xx

I swear 1500x60 gives you 90000 not 900, you would probably get a mark for couple of things that you worked out but not entirely sure if u got full marks although I suck at maths what other questions did you come across ?

Where did you get 1500 x 60?

miscalculated i didn't divide lol does anyone else know if the answer is correct

I did 60% off 1500 which is 900, then I did 1500-900= 600. I did 15% off 600
For the second shop 2/3 of 1500
I did 2x1500=3000
Then 3000 divided by 3= 1000
The first shop was cheaper

Two thirds of 1500 is 1000.

I do it a different way I did 2x1500=3000 divided by 3 =1000
