Mass Spec

Hi all, I've just been going through some questions on mass spec and noticed some differences in the process. In the textbook, it says that it's a magnetic field that deflects the ions, but in the mark scheme it says electric field? Any ideas on what I should put in the future?

Electromagnets are used so I guess both XD. Don't take my word for it read the guide d:

Edit: it says magnetic field in the steps.

An electro magnet is used to create a magnetic field, i would suggest it is and electromagnetic field which is why there are both answers but i would check with a teacher to be sure
