Cambridge

Hi  my dream would be to do the Human, Social and Political Science degree at Cambridge. I feel like it’s so perfect for me as it incorporates a range of subjects. But I don’t know if my GCSEs are good enough. I got

A- History
A-Classical Civilisation
A- Chemistry
A- Food Technology
A- French
A*- Biology
A*- Physics
8- Maths
8- English Literature
9 - English Language

If anyone has any advice on whether I should apply, that would be great
Wow! You have excellent GCSE results.
Definitely apply!
I know a few (2) youtubers who study your course at Cambridge.
One (only first year) was at Wolfson, the other (currently third) is at Homerton!

Thank you so much! I was worried because I read online the average Cambridge student has 8 A*s.

No no no! Forget that!
The average Cambridge studentloves the subject they've chosen to study, performs (performed) well on the admissions test and does really well in the interview!
Don't worry about your GCSE's!
If it makes you feel any better, people have gotten into Cambridge with 2 gcse's or even only 3 passed GCSE's (watch this --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxqTpLPWlMg )

I hope you do well in your a-levels and I'll follow you!

Disclaimer - It may be different for him, he was the first person in his family to go to uni, he is working class, ethnic minority etc.

There is another Cambridge youtuber who has a different demographic, upper middle class, white etc.

Good luck girl! I'm in year 11 right now and on-track to getting grades similar to yours! My dream is also Cambridge but Loughborough is also really good (for my course - Engineering). I can't focus on it too much now since I have to do my GCSE's but 100% next year I can imagine myself in the same position as you.

Btw - you can order a prospectus from March(?) I believe. Have you considered ordering one from both Oxford and Cambridge.
I went to an Oxford open day last year. I'm going to a Cambridge open day this year!

That's so cool! Engineering is an excellent course. Did you like Oxford?

Ibz mo applied when he already had his A Level grades, and I believe he had extenuating circumstances, making his GCSEs basically irrelevant in his case. Things like being the first in his family to go to uni, working class, are only negligible in comparison to the more important things like grades.

Unfortunately no, but I'm so in love with Cambridge and Loughborough (I'm also going to their open day). I honestly just can't wait to finish my GCSE's and focus on my life! haha x

Same! I definitely prefer Cambridge. I never even considered Oxford
Anyone knows where I could take GCSE and A Level online study for Cambridge? I found ICS Learn UK, but it's for EDEXCEL. Thanks.
Did you do your research before asking this question? Because Cambridge doesn't really care about GCSEs, but with your GCSEs you can apply to Oxford

I'm not really sure where to research this. Really? I didn't think my GCSE grades were good enough for Oxford.

I'm not sure sorry. Maybe try calling someone in charge of education at your local council?
